Dan Tyminski is famous for his bluegrass composing. Born on June 20th 1967 he is also a well known vocalist and an excellent instrumentalist. One of his famous songs was “Man of Constant Sorrow”. This song was also featured in the movie “O Brother, Where Art Thou?”.

 

Dan Tyminski is from Rutland, Vermont and learnt the traditional bluegrass with a pop mixture. His first instrument was a banjo and then a mandolin and was playing in a Band called the “Lonesome River”. He was the one who inspired and thought his brother Stan the guitar and mandolin. Stan  learnt the instruments at a tender age of 6.

Dan Tyminski and his brother started a band in high school where Tyminski played the banjo. This band was called Green Mountain Bluegrass. Dan Tyminski was playing the banjo from the age of twelve till his early twenties. It was in the age 21 that Dan was hired by Lonesome River Band to play the mandolin.

Dan Donegan is the guitarist for the American Band Disturbed. He was born on 1st of August 1968 in Oak Lawn, Illinois. Dan loves his long hair and would not give it away for anything. When he was a teen, his Dad got him a job in his fathers construction work. It was mandatory to cut his hair for construction work. However, Dan Donegan had a better idea. Dan got himself a wig and hid his hair behind it. Donegan’s dad was also not able to find this out. Later, his dad himself let him have his long hair.

Dan Donegan formed his first band called Vandal.

Some of the gigs that Dan uses are a Digitech “The Weapon”. This pedal was designed by Digitech for him. He also uses a Digitech Whammy Pedal, Digitech Metal Master – A Distortion pedal. It has also been reported that he uses a lot more effect pedals like the BBE Sonic Maximizer, Boss PH-2 Super Phaser, an volume pedal from Ernie Ball and a Dunlop Wah crybaby.  Dan Donegan relied on Marshall amplifications on his initial days for Disturbed. Dan has two children. Maya his daughter and Justin his son.

Daniel Jacobs has been playing the guitar from the age of 12. Daniel has been popularly associated with the band Atreyu a Metal core band for which he was an active member from the beginning.

ESP guitars have a series of signature guitars called the ESP Dan Jacobs EX on his name. Daniel Jacobs along with Joe Jacobs his brother, own a t-shirt company. Their deigns portray the classical eighties rock music styles. These t-shirts are worn by all the band members Travis Miguel, Brandon Saller and Alex Varkatzas. Other band members like Allen Jeck and Slim form the band Bury Your Dead have also worn his t-shirts.

Daniel Jacobs reveals that his favorite tracts would be Lip Gloss and Black, Suicide Notes and Butterfly Kisses.

Christopher Michael Oliva is a co-writer, the lead guitarist and co-founder of the rock music band “Savatage” born on April 3, 1963, Pompton Plains, NJ.

Criss Oliva one of the greatest guitar player and musical geniuses was killed by a car accident involving a drunk driver on October 17, 1993.

Criss found music when he was in California and continued his musical journey to Florida. Criss Oliva and his eldest brother Jon Oliva together formed the band “Avatar” in 1978. Criss and Jon met Steve Wacholz for the first time in 1980. They later on started practicing in a shack behind Oliva home. This made them name the shack "The Pit". Steve was given a nickname “Doctor Hardware Killdrums” that would follow him through out his career.

Keith Collins joined the band in 1981 to relieve Jon from his bass guitar duties and the band released Extended Play on Par Records. They renamed the band name as ‘Savatage’ in the year 1983 due to copyright issues. The albums ‘Sirens’ in 1983 and ‘The Dungeons Are Calling’ in 1985 are the first two albums released by Savatage on Par Records. Criss married his girlfriend Dawn Hoppert in 1984. They signed with ‘Atlantic Records’ in 1985 and released 6 albums. The Savatage band worked together with producer Paul O’Neill in 1987’s album ‘Hall of the Mountain King’ and this was considered the ‘Golden Age’ of Savatage.

Criss Oliva’s biggest dream was to achieve platinum grade for the album ‘Streets: A Rock Opera’ in 1991. Savatage’s ‘Streets’ was the biggest success and Criss enjoyed the bands success. He won many fans for his unique playing style, including Megadeth and Dave Mustaine, this record allowed new fans to their music.

Criss albums included ‘The Dungeons Are Calling” in 1985, ‘Power of The Night’ in 1985, ‘Gutter Ballet’ in 1990 and ‘Streets: A Rock Opera’ in 1991.
