Daniel Alexander Kessler from the Interpol band was born on September 25, 1974 in London. He is also the backup vocalist for this New York based band.
He was using a Rickenbacker Guitar before. However, he has changed to an Epiphone Casino. He also uses a Gibson ES-335, a red guitar.
The members of this band are Paul Banks who is the guitarist and singer. Carlos Dengler plays the bass and the keyboards. He is called Carlos D. by his fans. Sam Fogarino plays the drums. Their first album was released on the year 2002, named "Turn on the Bright Lights". This became the top ten albums of the year for 2002 on NME. Their second album Antics was also a huge success bringing a lot of funding into the band. They have now released a new album, "Our Love to Admire".
There is confusion about the origin about the name Interpol. Paul Kessler states that initially they played a lot of shows without even having a name. So Kessler told his team mates, we need to look for a name as we are getting good amount of crowd. They first chose Las Armas and The French Letters. However, they finally chose Interpol.
Kessler now lives in Manhattan. There is another interesting thing about Kessler which is he does not smoke which is not a common thing in the guitarist industry. He also is a vegetarian. Though he was born in England and brought up in United States, he fluently speaks in French.
