Sutton grew up near Ashville, North Carolina watching his father and grandfather play the musical instruments. His father was a Rhythm guitar player and could also play the banjo. Bryan Sutton father presented him a plastic guitar when he was 3 years old and he would strum the guitar while his father was practising with his band in their living room. His father was a big influence on him during his younger days. When Bryan Sutton was 8 years old, he used to sit with his father to learn the guitar and later his family formed a small band

Bryan Sutton used to play with his family band during his High school days and went on to  extend his musical interests to learning Jazz guitars and playing electric guitar. He later began playing as a studio musician in gospel music. Bryan Sutton also performs regularly with a 1940 Martin D-28. Although presently Bryan Sutton’s busy working with the Kentucky Thunder, he’s still keeps touch with his sessions work since he plans to keep this as his base for the future.
