Carlo Marchione is an Italian classical guitarist born in 1964 in Rome, Italy.
Carlo Marchione currently teaches at the Conservatory Maastricht in Netherlands.
Carlo Marchione learnt guitar from masters L. Cauzzo and L. Galuzzi at the age of 10. He enrolled at ‘Conservatorio Santa Cecilia’, the oldest musical institution. He got 1st place out of the 100 applicants in the entrance exam and entered the class of Master Mario Gangi. In 1983, he completed his studies with honors.
Carlo Marchione has been awarded many top prizes in International competitions throughout his career (“Ancona” in 1979/80, “L. Leganai” Parma in 1981, “M. Giuliani” in 1982, “Ville de Sablé” in 1985, “Gargnano” in 1989, “N. Paganini” in 1991, “Città di Latina” in 1992). Carlo Marchione gives a guest appearance at Festivals throughout Europe (Spain, Italy, France, England, Czech Republic, Holland, Austria, Germany, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Rumania, Sweden, Croatia, and Russia) as soloist and with orchestra and various chamber music groups.
Carlo Marchione was invited to perform in the prestigious Main Auditorium of “Tchaikowsky Conservatory in Moscow” and in the “Philharmonia of St. Petersburg” while he was touring Russia in 1997. The concerts sell-outs well and received great applause from the audience. Carlos gave his debut in the “Berliner Philharmonie” in October 1998.
