The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP) in association with www.mikedolbear.com is delighted to announce an exclusive interactive masterclass with Janek Gwizdala and featuring Jojo Mayer. This fantastic, one-off event will take place on Thursday April 9th 2009 at the Luminaire venue in London and is the prelude to Janek’s European Spring tour (in association with www.ArtOnEarth.com) which commences on the same day at Charlie Wright’s International Bar in London.Janek, a member of the ICMP’s visiting faculty and a rapidly rising star in the world of bass guitar, has brought together a trio of some of the most cutting edge musicians in New York City - Jojo Mayer (drums), Oli Rockberger (keys and vocals), and long-time collaborator Audun Waage of Norway on trumpet. Having worked individually as sidemen with the likes of Mike Stern, Randy Brecker, Branford Marsalis, Pat Metheny, Dizzy Gillespie, Meshell N’degeocello,and many more, these four musicians come together to play original instrumental and vocal material, including music from "live at the 55bar", Janek’s latest release.
