David Grier is an acoustic guitarist born in America. He is one of the pioneers in flatpicking guitars. The International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) formd in 1985 to promote bluegrass music chose him as the “Guitar Player of the Year” three times.

David recalls that the legendary player Roland White was a major influence to learn the guitar in his early years. David Grier also performs as a solo and is an active member of the group Psychograss. Psychograss was founded by Mike Marshall and Darol Anger.

Davids family has a strong bonding to music. Grier’s father, Lamar was a well known banjo player in the band Bill Monroe. This band is into Bluegrass music. David Grier still owns his fathers Martin D-18 which is an 1955 make.
